Farm Share 2008 Week 2

Here's what we scored in week 2. My favorite so far has definitely been the hakurei radish. Tonight I sliced the bulbs very thin and sauteed them with some shallots in olive oil for a couple of minutes until the shallots started browning and then tossed in the greens to wilt for about a minute. A little red wine vinegar and salt finished it off.

CSA_2_1 1. spinach
2. lettuce
3. mustard salad mix
4. radishes
5. Swiss chard

CSA_2_2 6. hon tsai tai
7. hakurei turnips
8. scallions

Csa_2_3 9. baby bok choi
10. peas
11. broccoli

The kids had eaten almost all of the peas before I even got home from work. I wish they ate everything else with so much zeal. The only other thing that they've liked so far is the broccoli.

As for my own garden, the radishes should be ready soon. I had one variety of beans that is doing well, but the other one is struggling and so are my peas. I'll have some idea of what I have for carrots and parsnips once I pull up the radishes.
