Farm Share 2008 Week 1

There's no way in heck that I'm going to come up with lyrical titles for all 20 or so of these updates, so please forgive me for breaking format!

We picked up our first farm share from Deri Farm today and I was impressed with what we got considering it was only the first week. There sure isn't anything in MY garden that's ready to eat yet (unless you want to eat slugs).

Here's what we received:

CSA_1_1 1. hakurei turnips

2. broccoli

3. baby pak choi

CSA_1_2 4. deep purple scallion

5. radishes

6. Red and greened leaf lettuce

CSA_1_3

7. kale

8. swiss chard

CSA_1_4
9. eggs (paid extra for those)

10. spinach

We "lurve" our farmers market....it gives us the chance to check out the local stuff (great veggies, but a lot of hippies dancing to bongo drums)....we are 'about ready' to do the CSA (NY speak for Farm Share), although we fear having 15 pounds of green beans.....

On the more uncomfortable note, thank you for sharing about Matt A.'s stuff. Makes me think. a lot.

sorry about the 'bald' thing. It was funny in my head.....

It was the least funny that you had said that day, but it didn't bother me! The beer trap comment was hilarious.

I went to Matt's service today. That'll dominate my next entry for sure.
